Ukraine | Close the Sky

This series of paintings (and drawings) was created in response to the war in Ukraine. The paintings draw from 35mm photographs taken during the artist’s humanitarian journey through corridors of refuge in Ukraine, Poland, and Hungary. Translated into oil paintings, the images reflect both the peaceful beauty of everyday scenes and the unseen weight of conflict—danger, fear, and uncertainty held just beneath the surface of awareness. Proceeds from the original works supported ongoing humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
